International Student at US Boarding School--In Which Pool Am I?

Hey all, I was wondering whether an international student (no FA needed) attending a US boarding school for HS would be placed in the domestic pool or the international pool at the time his application is read.

Is he evaluated alongside his American classmates, or within the international pool, or alongside other applicants from his home country, or a combination of those three?

How about the specific policies pertaining to international status at the following schools:
Northwestern
UChicago
Georgetown
WUSTL
JHU

Also, would my nationality be a hook if there is currently zero undergraduate from my country at some of the schools?

Thank you!

Nationality might be attractive, but it certainly isn’t a hook. A hook would be if you were a recruited athlete who the head coach wanted.

This student will be in the small-ish pool of international applicants who don’t need any aid and who were educated in the US. Definitely not a US applicant, but also not a true international. For details, it really is OK for you to pick up the phone and have a chat with the admissions office on each campus.
