<p>How much does asking for financial aid reduce your chances at Brown university?</p>
<p>(just sent in my fin aid forms today, paying around 35K, expecting Brown to pay the rest :P)</p>

<p>Brown is need aware for international students. Which means that for international students, they will consider your financial need when they review your application. (This is NOT the case for US citizens; for them Brown is need blind.)</p>
<p>Given the current economic situation, and how it has hurt Brown this year, my guess is that an international student who needs money is going to have to be pretty amazing to get in. This is my personal opinion and not based on anything official that I've heard from Brown. Many of the international students at Brown are quite wealthy. I don't know how they view an application from someone like yourself, who needs money but can pay a significant chunk.</p>
<p>Well Brown is a once in a life time opportunity...given the amount of things one could do there...
