International Student Essays? Different Approach?

Despite the fact I've been critiquing essays for 3+ years
on this account and my old one, this is truly the FIRST
year where i've been open ended about people sending me
their essays.

And consequently, this is the first year i've received a lot
of international students' essays.

I started doing the first 10+ or so the same way as I would
critique any other student, but then I thought about the
acceptance %s of international students.

Which brings me to my question today.

Is it justified to "brag" more for International students,
considering it's harder for them to get accepted at colleges
than american ones? To embed credentials in their essay when
it's not centered around that? What do you guys think?
I just want to make sure I'm giving the right advice. And in
my college visits I never asked any admission officer about how
they treat international students' essays (cuz quite frankly, I
didn't need to know back then??? hahaha)

And if there's anything else different about international
students' essays, feel free to post it on this thread too.

what do you mean by "brag"? like stating all the disadvantages they had and overcoming them?

I like my essays. They are just like I want them to be merithorically, but I am wondering what approach do they have to non-english speakers as far as vocabulary and style...?
