International Student - GPA

I just recently graduated high school and I am applying to a few US colleges. However I calculated my GPA with the American scale and I got about 2.9 (I have about an 84% percent grade)
I am very worried I will be turned down by all these colleges’. Keep in mind I am not applying to the Ivy Leagues or any very prestigious liberal arts colleges or public university such as UVA.
Out of all my options, my reach college is FSU.
There were 74 students graduating in my class and the highest percent grade was an 89%
I am in the top 8 of my class, I scored 1250 in the SAT, 103 in the TOEFL iBT and completed the IB Diploma and was awarded the diploma with a score of 30.
I feel like a GPA of 2.9 makes me look like a bad student but I don’t think I am lol.
I’d also like to add that my high school is probably in the top 3 of my country meaning it is quite competitive.

I guess what I’d like to know is whether the colleges will calculate my GPA differently because of this.
Thank you!

Feel free to PM me. If you have an 84% grade but have a 2.9 gpa I think you messed up somewhere on the math. I can do it for you if you want, just PM me the grades.

Wait, wait, wait!! You did the IBD? And got 30?? Why are you calculating GPA? You don’t need it.

Any school in the US will be familiar with IBD and will judge you based on the IBD grade alone.

Don’t worry about it.

You will be compared with other IBD kids, or the school will have their own way of judgment a 30 in IB.

Remove that GPA. Just use the ibd score.
