International student wants to transfer

Hello everyone :)

I am an international student from Morocco currently studying in the US. I would like to transfer to Europe because I'm homesick all the time. It's unbearable so I need to transfer to somewhere closer to home. How can I start the transfer process?

Thanks!

Visit the website of the universities you would like to transfer to and see how their process works.

I know that it is almost impossible to transfer into the UK, but I do not know about the rest of Europe.

You can actually transfer into UK universities- i have a friend who did it… the only thing is that your year in the US is treated as a gap year and so you start as a first year like everyone else. I’m not sure about universities in other parts of Europe, I do know that Bocconi in Milan accepts transfers (and you wont have to start over) and a few in holland i think as well. good luck!

I know that I would have to study the foundation year in the UK because my brother has applied there but I would prefer studying either in France, Spain, or Italy. I have been to the sites of the universities but I also wanted a transfer student’s opinion. Is it really worth the transfer?

Thanks again :)

I have the same concern. I prefer specifically Germany. I have emailed couple of Universities in Germany that most of their programs are taught entirely in English and they asked my to send a copy of my transcript to do a review through email not officially tough and still waiting their responses.

Below is one of Universities I emailed and the person who was in charge is Joost Kleuters

Rhine-Waal University

‏the email of the person is (joost.kleuters@hochschule-rhein-waal.de)

I hope that helps and good luck with your studies

You just need to think about the next three years of your life, and if you can picture them all being in the US… if not then it’s probably worth it! but then again, you could always study abroad for a year and then it’s not so bad :)
