International Transfer and TOEFL

Hi all,
I am an international student. I graduated from a high school in Vietnam and I've been in a California community college for more than 1 year (I'm taking my 3rd semester). I have taken the TOEFL-iBT, which expired 4 months before the UC application filling period, and got 99 overall. I just submitted my UC application a few days ago.

My question is: Do the UCs require TOEFL results for international students transferring from a CCC? If so will I need to retake the test?

I think the two English composition courses are enough for English proficiency for ANY KIND of transfers, but I need some credible sources. I think international students with prior enrollment to American colleges would be classified as TRANSFERS, not INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS, so no TOEFL required. But I'm not sure, so I need you guys. Links to official websites or your relevant personal experience would be great. Thank you.

I think the TOEFL requirement is for international students who are freshman applicants. Freshman applicants are applying at the same time with transfer students, and UC uses the same form for both. Since you have studied at CCC, you don’t have to take TOEFL or any other tests.

That’s what I thought, but 2 of my friends who transferred from a CC in Washington said they had to submit TOEFL/IELTS, so I don’t really know if the same is applied for CC in California.

I think because they don’t have IGETC, which is a curriculum for only California transfer students, they must take the English test to clear the proficiency requirement.
