Internship or College Admission Prep?

Hi,
I'm in desperate need of advice.

I'm a senior getting ready for college.

I secured an internship at Caltech for over the summer. But, due to personal reasons I was out of the country until september.
I'm still planning on doing the internship after first semester until next summer, but the problem is I want to be able to say I interned at Caltech in my resume. (I'm going to major in a science)

My concern is, should I start my internship now?

But, this would mean less time for college essays, college search and SAT prepping, not to mention schoolwork. On the otherhand, it would mean being able to say internship at caltech workinprogress when applying for colleges.

What do you think would benefit me the most? At this point I would like to boost up my extracurrics as much as I can. I really have limited extracurrics and leadership positions.

Thanks in advance!

Bump? Any help please?

Would you learn something at your internship? Will you grow, will you make contacts, will it actually make you a better college candidate? If so, then yes, do it. But don’t do anything only because it “looks good” on your resume. It will make it harder to study and choose colleges, but some people work better under pressure. The more they have to do, the more they get done. Are you that kind of person?
