how accessible are internships? i would think there would be a lot, as nyc is in your backyard, but is that just a myth? and around what year do students start looking for them?

They are very accessible, but competitive. Make the right connections with people and you’ll be fine.

There are a lot internships despite the recession and a lot of corporations still come for networking events (probably because they are literally right next door and won’t have to be criticized for traveling expenses).

Connections can be done in networking events (be sure to get contact info and add them on Linkin), connections directly through the counselors at Wasserman Career Center, and through alumni, graduate students (who previously worked or are still working at their firms part-time), and your professors.
