^^that’s horrible. this is taking things in a different direction but i think black people need to stop doing that crap. why would you bash someone who is advocating for your civil rights? i don’t agree with everthing al and jackson say either, but i believe they are smart men and are doing what they believe will better the world. they don’t speak for the whole race but they don’t deserve to be spit on for trying to help a race that in some ways is truly lost.then again all races have serious internal problems, but it really doesn’t help progress when things like that are said. so they want you to go an hbu instead of an ivy, how is that “holding you back.” because they’re not as intelligent down there?

Are they trying to help or trying to boost their own ego is the matter I, and BeautifulNerd219, were discussing.

It seems to fall in the latter.

^^ Yeah. I’m just saying they ARE smart, but they want to uplift themselves at the same time. Jesse Jackson was so mad at Obama winning, even at his nomination. Who says, “I just wanna cut his nts off”? Seriously. No matter how much someone has effed up in the political world, I have NEVER heard someone whisper on a microphone they forget was there that they want to cut someone’s nts off. He said that Obama was talking down to black people. NO. He’s saying Obama was talking down to black people b/c he couldn’t be the one running so no one else was good enough to him. I mean, they’re smart guys when they’re not talking nonsense. It’s just mainstream America thinks of them as the symbols for black people, and if not them, it’s Lil Wayne and other rappers. But with Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton, they’re just boosting themselves up most of the time.

OH YEAH and about Jesse Jackson’s wife. Didn’t he knock up another woman while still married?

Ok well I originally asked the question and I am going to a school in ohio (KSU) so do you think that I at KSU will have a problem with dating a white guy or finding a white guy who will date me?

I doubt you will have a problem. As long as you stay true to yourself and look for a great guy, you’ll find one. Ohio is a good state, and I’m not sure what college my cousin goes to there but he’s in an IR.

Wow, Jesse Jackson really said that!? If that isn’t proof he’s out for himself, I don’t know what is.

AllAmerican, while everyone has varying preferences from hair color, to race to eye color, to height, to body structure – I think you’re putting way too much emphasis on race, to the point where you’re putting white men on a pedestal and even lowering yourself in the process. It almost sounds like you’re saying “I know I’m not good enough, but do you think a white guy would tolerate me?”

Someone else said the same thing to me. That I like put them on a pedestal and that like I… idk she was saying how it is such a compliment to me to be called “beautiful” by a white guy and it shouldn’t be but its just really important to me I want to be like accepted you know idk I can’t explain it

@allamerican girl- Don’t fight for anyone’s approval or acceptance. Be happy with who you are, and love yourself for who you are. If you don’t, guys will just run all over you, and take advantage of your naivete.

Did he not realize he was on camera? Holy four-asterisks.

–

That might be something you need to look into. The only acceptance you need is your own.

Oh, I just pwned Dr. Phil. I should get my own tv show.

^^^ Dr. Phil need to get help for himself. He has so many hidden issues yet he can comment on everyone else’s faults. “Your wife doesn’t love you because you don’t love you.” “Your child misbehaves because you won’t spank him. You were spanked as a child, and it traumatized you. You need my counseling.” “I want to help you, but you have to want to help you.” …I can say the same stuff he says WITHOUT a degree. It’s all common sense. He finds random nut job families that just need some common sense in their heads.

I heard he didn’t even have a license to practice psychology.

And apparently had sex with a patient, once.

^ I was so annoyed when he first came out and everyone loved him because he “told it like it is” LOL! Every other jerk or idiot who thinks they’re just being honest does that. Just walk up to a total stranger and you’ll get the same answers. Dr. Phil is part of the reason so many people dislike or is skeptical of psychology.

Yes, Jesse Jackson and his ilk need to shut up. I strongly dislike the black dichotomy of being either a self-righteous speaker of the entire black community and people who act like thugs. This problem should be more openly addressed because it seems like it is part of the reason some whites harbor negative feelings towards blacks. I mean, I’m not making excuses for racists, but there are whites in certain parts of the country who have literally never seen a black person outside of TV, so certain images are all they see.
If Obama listened to Jesse Jackson’s nonsense, he would have lost the election. When Jackson cried, I knew it was not because he was proud of Obama, but because he realized what [an idiot] he is. Then again after that n*ts comment, I realized I’m wrong. He is just a bitter man who puts himself on a pedestal.

^ Lol so true. At first, I thought it was a joke when they mentioned the comment. I thought it was a spoof or SNL or something. When I saw it, I was like well there goes the new image mainstream will have of black people lol.

^ Hopefully most people will find that a distant memory and Jessie Jackson a relic of the past. The only people who are probably hanging on the every word that Jackson says are supremacists of both sides, the black ones and the white ones to be the antithesis hanging on to the last shred of whatever evidence that can find to put blacks down.

I’ve realized that many white racists seem stuck before the cultural revolution of the '60s, even the ones our age. Worrying about the whole, “If it feels good, do it” adittude by having experiencing drugs, sex and every counterculture thing, but now it’s not the hippies whose “free love” seem pale in comparison, but it’s those emo/gangster/(insert whatever subculture) who are destructive to our moral core as Americans. Some of them ramble about communism and anarchy as if it is still a real threat to American society when only fringe groups are seriously considering it. Or they read race pseudoscience books that are over one hundred years old and try to pass it as real anthropology. Sigh, it seems as if many are not living in the present reality. I wonder if I would be stuck in the '00s or '10s lol.

You back up your statements with personal attacks and opinionated fluff. Black comedians reference slavery as a joke, guess that means that’s still out there too. Please, revisit the topic when you have something at least semi-intelligent to say.

^^^ It IS still the stereotype b/c it’s always mentioned by many comedians, mainstream television shows, and even in households. It’s the stereotype in many black people’s minds. Why do you think so many black guys rush for white women sometimes (they feel that they’ll do whatever they say)? Not to say that it’s true, I’m just speaking what the stereotype is. What other stereotype is there for white women? You NEVER did answer it. Like I said, it’s a STEREOTYPE. Just b/c white women aren’t on a d@mn pedestal in the stereotype, you get butthurt. Get over yourself. Slavery is mentioned as a coverup for the resentment many blacks stil withhold toward whites. How about you return with something more important than “I like to make my gf sandwiches”…the whole purpose of that was to ridicule the stereotypes. Everyone else got the joke EXCEPT you. Read something, learn it, and retain it (that’s what an intelligent person does…i’m way past semi unlike you).

There were no personal attacks or opinionated fluff (what guy says fluff…). It’s true. You can’t say what you know and don’t know about black culture unless you’ve been around it. You come out of nowhere with your anecdotes trying to relate it to a mockery of a stereotype. Pay attention, and be a good pupil. Oh yeah, and slavery STILL is out there. May not be in America, but it’s out there. In ways, blacks are still held down. “Affirmative action” is supposed to help minorities yet that doesn’t cover for the everyday struggles that many face in the hood. So people telling them to “get an education” is the last thing on their minds b/c they’re trying to make it day to day. That’s oppression to have a specific group in a rut as such which equals out to modern day slavery -> working long hours, low wages, and no hope for the future.

@TA3021- I think so many people of the older generation freak out about communism and anarchy b/c of how the govt. handled those issues in the 60s. Every little thing was blamed on communism. President Kennedy’s death was said to be by a communist (I really don’t think the guy did it, at least not alone). (I get off track easily if anyone hasn’t noticed) But yeah, that’s funny (the whole “if it feels good, do it”). I think you’re right b/c that was around the time of the Sexual Revolution, so a lot of people are in that mindset. Being free, doing what they want to do, pleasing themselves and pleasing others…still there.

^ When I was in high school one of my classmates said, “You pinko commie liberal!” half-seriously lol. He was known for being ultra-conservative too. I can understand the old and middle aged folks, but the youth? Seriously? I mean, I know that some people use the views of their parents as their own, but not like that lol.

Lol wow. Pinko? Communism=red…pinko? That’s just weird. Was he mentally ill?

I dunno. He didn’t believe in global warming and said he loved Ann Coulter a little too excitedly one time. He would always pretend to sniffle and cry when he heard a liberal opinion 'cause all liberals are crybabies, right?
I guess pinko means sissy because pink is usually an non-masculine color and they’re insulting commie manliness. I bet if I really decided to do the research, I’ll run into all these inane and crazy blog ramblings, so I will spare myself the trouble lol.
