How should i dress? What questions can i expect? Any tips? Also, if u’ve been interviewed already, to what school were you interviewed by?

<p>I agree with nngmm. I do alumni admissions interviews for a New England LAC, and do not expect students to dress up. However, I would <em>not</em> be pleased to see a prospective student show up in scruffy jeans and a dirty T-shirt. You want to be yourself and be comfortable, but you also want to show respect to the interviewer for taking the time to meet with you.</p>
<p>What kind of questions does the interviewer ask?</p>
<p>Some questions that I might ask (in no particular order): Why are you interested in this college/Why did you apply to this college?</p>
<p>Tell me a little bit about your high school. How do you balance your studies/activities? Who is your favorite teacher and why? Is it difficult to schedule all the classes you would like to take?</p>
<p>What do you do in the summer? What is your favorite non-academic activity? Do you plan to continue this activity in college?</p>
<p>Have you ever faced a difficult situation, and how did you handle it?</p>
<p>Is there anything you would especially like for me to communicate to the admissions office - any awards or activities you were not able to include on the application?</p>
<p>Do you have any questions about the college? (Please, don't ask me if the college has a certain major; you should already know that <em>before</em> you apply.)</p>
<p>I approach the interviews as a way to advocate for the area students, to give another dimension to the GPAs, test scores, etc.</p>
