Does anyone know if there are interviews for the Chancellor's Scholarship? Also, I applied ED II and was wondering if this scholarship
was reserved to sway RD'ers to come to Vanderbilt.

Okay, so I know know the answer to my first question. Which is...no interviews. But anyone have an answer for the ED/RD debacle?

texas, i applied ED II and i also applied to the Ingram Scholarship. i don't think being an ED II candidate necessarily hurts or helps your scholarship chances; if you're qualified, you're qualified. i did not end up getting chosen for as a semi-finalist, but, ultimately, i think it's the staggering amount of many very well-deserved applicants that make it difficult to attain these prestigious scholarships.

Scholarships are ultimately more incentives than rewards. I do not know of any ED applicants who have received major scholarships from Vandy and there's really no reason for the university to offer them. I think ED certainly hurts your chances and my attitude is that by applying ED you effectively waive your eligibility for major scholarships.

wow, no interview for the Chancellor's Scholarship?! i thought there had to be one for something this prestigeous. when are notifications sent out? anybody know?

i wrote my post a little too soon. i was contacted this morning and i'm a semi-finalist for the ingram. so again i stand by the statement that applying ED does not hurt nor help your chances.

sakuragirl--did you apply? if you did, at the bottom of the application it says "April 1st - Admissions and Chancellor's Scholarship Notification" or something like that. no where on the application does it specify any type of interview or semi-finalist/finalist recognition like the ingram's scholarship does, so most likely there are no interviews for chancellor's.

yes i did apply. (is embarrassed that i don't remember anything) i kind of assumed there would be interviews b/c most full scholarship programs at college require one :/

Greetings All,

Not to worry. All qualified applicants for scholarships will be considered regardless of which decision plan he/she chooses. All notifications of scholarships will come with the admit packet in late March or early April.

Good luck to everyone. We are up to our eyeballs in applications and enjoying reading about your academic and co-curricular adventures.

Go 'Dores!
