Interviews?

I know I have read that it doesn't matter who you interview with, but I have apparently decided to worry about this anyway.
D interviewed during a recent visit, but the interview was with a student. Does that count as 'the' interview?
The website says they are not evaluative, but also notes that they help them get to know you, and there are deadlines, so it seems best to have one.

I don’t actually know if there are any Wellesley grads in our area, but my D would love to get to meet with one if there is!

@shoboemom‌ When I interviewed back in April when I visited Wellesley, the interviewer was a student, too. And, now that I’ve applied, the interview does appear on the records as ‘the’ interview, so, yes, interviews at Wellesley with a current student are official interviews.

Hey @ToraTori‌ , the interview shows up on your record? Do you mean the portal? I had an interview but I didn’t see anything about interview on my portal… Thxx

Hi @lilmissyy‌! In the materials checklist on the portal, my interview appears in the list under requirements.

@lilmissyy my interview doesn’t show up either…hmmm. I know my interviewer sent a report in, too. Did you iterview on campus or with an alum?

@lilmissyy @sourvinegar Mine showed up under the materials checklist (under requirements) on the portal, like @lucythehedgehog‌ (PS- Lucy, if you’re reading this, I am in love with your username). But I interviewed last April and I interviewed on campus, so I’m not sure whether the timing or the location had any affect on the input… I do know that it takes a while to send the information if you interviewed with an alumna, and I know that, after it arrives, they need an extra couple of days to enter the data into the system. I also know that there was a cutoff date for interviews for class of 2015/19 ED applicants, but I’m not sure when it is (was?)… if you interviewed after that date (though I doubt that this is the case; they would’ve told you) your information might not be entered…?

I don’t mean to scare you; I’d wait until December 1st to see if the information is entered on your Portal, and, if it is not, then I would call (or email, but calling is better) the Admissions Office and get a DIRECT answer. Ultimately, that’s the best way to go about solving a potential problem like this, and it shows initiative.

Best of luck!

@sourvinegar‌ , to relieve your stress: I checked the portal and it on there it did say that <copied> “2) Non-required materials, i.e. other recommendations, academic awards, interviews, or AP scores will not appear below. We will not be able to respond to inquiries regarding the receipt of non-required materials.”
So I guess we are fine! So don’t worry :)</copied>

And thanks so much @ToraTori‌ !!! You are always so willing to help :slight_smile:
A huge thank you to @lucythehedgehog‌ too! :)

My daughter also interviewed on campus with a student interviewer. I thought it was good. My daughter got to ask some questions about Wellesley life an adult wouldn’t really be able to answer with personal experience. The interviewer was so mature/dressed professionally that I didn’t know she was a student when I saw her (found out afterward). She was able to answer my questions as well in the waiting room and I found the experience to be very professional. So I think it’s very common and they are well trained.

@lilmissyy‌ ^#(^ Eh? Don’t thank me – it’s no problem at all, and I’m sure you’d do the same! I just want to help make sure that everyone’s experience goes as smoothly as possible… I just hope that I’m not coming across as pushy or controlling or know-it-all-ish in the process! lol ;u;

@lilmissyy I emailed Wellesley about it and they told me that they have my interview, but it wasn’t listed (probably because it was an alumnae interview :slight_smile: ) So I just thought I’d let you know as you were in the same position. Most likely they have yours as well. Only five more days!!

@sourvinegar I did an alumnae interview as well and didn’t find any listing of it on my portal. Hopefully, my person send her report cause I did do a follow-up thank you email!
