interviews

I know someone (forgot exactly who) on here had an interview at wake and thought it really helped. I signed up for an interview this summer, but the admissions (lady?) via email said that the purpose of the interview was primarily for the student to ask questions about Wake that weren't answered in the information session. They weren't meant for evaluation purposes. However, I remember that last summer when I visited the lady leading the information session made the comment that essays were crucial in illustrating exactly who you are, especially if you weren't able to have an interview. That made me think that interviews are, in fact, used to get a better feel for the student applying.

What has been yalls experience with interviews?

I had an interview last summer with the assistant Dean of Admissions. The latter view, I believe, is correct--interviews DO impact your pending admission. Your interview can go either way. Some people were in and out in about 15 minutes, while mine took over an hour. It simply gives you an opportunity to demonstrate your interest in the school. I highly recommend doing it if you can. I'd be happy to answer any more questions if you PM me. GL :)
