Interviews!

My interview is tomorrow @2...AT MY HOUSE! AH!

Is that allowed? My interviewer said houses are off-limits.

its fine to go to interviewer's house, but it would be pretty awkward at applicatn's house!

That's what's happening to me. And if you'll remember, he's class of '48. This will be interesting.

Class of 48 huh? How'd he get out of serving, I wonder.

He coulda served and gone back to princeton after. Although he said to me today that he was "80", not "80 someodd" or "82" so i dunno. I'm sure his family was wealthy.

My interview is going to be at Panera. Any tips?

yeah.
get the bacon turkey bravo!!!!

lol good luck

Get the Pink Ribbon thing.. it'll show you're charitable!

/sarcasm

Just be yourself! It'll go well, don't get too stressed out :)

lol ya i saw that thing. it looks disgusting

Is it common courtesy to buy your interviewer their coffee? Or does that seem like sucking up?

alumni interviewers, unlike adcom interviewers, are generally more friendly and really care about the applicants' well being. they won't really care if you buy them their coffee or not.

but if they don't ask for one and u buy it, it might seem like sucking up. it probably would...

clendenenator, how was interviewing at your house? that's what i have to do. was it awkward? were your parents there? i just never imagined the interview at my house, lol.

lol parents there?

like sitting on the couch on the other side of the room? oh the horror...

haha yeah i was kind of imagining my parents eavesdropping, and my sister coming downstairs and arguing with my mom about how she needs new clothes or something...

lol like in Orange County (great movie) when the STANFORD guy comes to interview. and the familys a mess and he ends up drinking urine! lol

lol i remember that.... wow thanks pk, now i feel a lot better!
:)

My interviewer just called!! I'm meeting him at his office on Wednesday. I'll let you know how it goes. :)

kroar, here's how it worked for me:

My mom was in the house. She introduced herself at first, gave us tea and crap, then went upstairs. She came down about an hour later when she suspected we were finishing up.

I thought it'd be really awkward, but it went fine. I think i was more comfortable in my own living room than i would have been in a strange office.

still haven't received anything about the interview...
