i'm kind of scared now...I'm on a 45 people waiting list to get a interview for Pomona. Will this severely hurt my chances at getting accepted? I am from socal and it is expected. The problem is, i wasn't sure i was gonna apply outside of the UCs until last weekend.

I doubt it will have that much of an affect. If you are on the waiting list it shows that at least you are making the effort to do more, which shows that you are interested. Also, teacher recommendations speak to your personality and character as well.

It probably doesn't matter. My interview was pretty informal, it was with a senior interviewer who hadn't done many interviews before. i don't think the interview hold that much weight, plus all they are looking for i think is if the interest is there so if your on a waiting list its fine.

My interview was absolutely horrible and I still got in (it was the most awkward situation of my life... I had a senior interviewer and she did not talk AT ALL- just asked questions and scribbled notes down) Especially since most of the interviews are with seniors, I don't think they really make or break your application. The fact that you showed interest in at least having an interview says enough, I think.

45 people wait list?! Wow, I just had my interview maybe 2 weeks ago and I only scheduled it alittle before then. Must be the holiday rush! Anyway, like everyone's said, I had mine with a Senior interviewer. He was really nice and didn't take notes or anything-just asked question and it wasn't too bad. Made me feel comfortable. I really hope I get in though! Good luck to you, and hopefully your interview will go well.
