Introductions to AOs

Does emailing AOs to introduce oneself annoy them? Does it even help at all?

For schools that consider demonstrated interest in the admission process, I would think that contacting your regional representative could be slightly advantageous – if you have a specific, legitimate question to ask (about the school, admission events, etc.). But emailing them simply to say “Hi, I’m skate17 and I like your school” might annoy some folks.

Are you planning to email all the Ivies and the top 15 colleges you mentioned in your other threads or are you looking at other schools? Elite colleges probably get more emails than they can keep track of, so you might want to check each college’s Common Data Set to see if they even take demonstrated interest into account.

No.
