Investment Banking

So does any major bulge bracket firms recruit from Cox?

yes. we have a very good relationship with Goldman Sachs as well as JPMorgan and Wells Fargo. Students often have internships with these firms as undergraduates.

eeliot thanks for the info!

since your a accountant major i assume your in cox. After interning w/ GS or JPM and if lucky, get hired, do these studentse travel to nyc for the job?

I am indeed in Cox. And I’m sure that there is flexibility in the investment banking world to travel to NYC if that’s something that you are interested in. My best advice in that situation would be to mention to the recruiter or note on your application that you are interested in interning/working there. This actually happens pretty often in Cox–we have an accounting internship program here (not sure about finance–it’s like a foreign language to me lol), and at least for that program you are able to request to work in a certain city, so no guarantees, but it’s probably something that you can make happen, or at least get the process into motion.

If this is something that you are 100% committed to, I would suggest talking to someone in the BBA Career Office once you’re admitted to Cox, because the staff there is truly a wealth of information.

Best of luck!
