The Fall 2014 I2E email invites have been sent. (Or at least have started to be sent.) Son got his about an hour ago!

Hi,What will happen if we are not able to make it.Also does it helps for admission.

Thanks a lot.

I’d guess you could ask if you can defer for the later one.

Hi,

If we attend I2E and apply by Nov 1st,do we know our decision on the application by mid of December?
Is this like Early Decision or no restrictions and you will just know whether you got admitted and received scholarship or not.

Can someone please clarify.
Thanks.

S was admitted to Baylor in early November, just logged in to make the deposit to find he received the faculty scholarship from I2E.

That’s terrific. Congratulations.

@Xenabean Nice! Congrats to your son! If I may ask, what program is he pursuing?

@CATDECAL thanks! He is looking at Business Fellows, as well as something in the Honors College - but he hasn’t decided for sure what. It’s either an MD or JD after the first 4 years, so it’ll be nice to not have the debt from the undergrad degree when he starts the next step.

Invitations for the January I2E have started going out via email.

Does anyone know when the January I2E attendees are notified if they were awarded a faculty scholarship? I’m hoping before March 1 when we have to list first choice National Merit school. Good luck to everyone!

Does anyone know how long we’re given to write the Faculty scholarship essays?

I was just wondering if you write the essays there or is there a way to submit them somehow before you attend I2E? I’m just confused about how the Faculty scholarship part works.

The questions may be different, and they appear in your Gobaylor account after the I2E weekend has completed. We had approximately 2 weeks after the I2E event to complete the essay. Good luck!

The I2E weekend will explain in detail the faculty scholarship as well as any other financial offerings available. They are very thorough - both for parents and students. Definitely worth the investment!

Thank you and do you get to choose from the 4 essay prompts or are you limited to the prompt relating to the session you were placed in during the event? Thank you so much for your help!

@mika723 you are limited to the prompt that relates to the breakout session the student chooses.

FWIW, my son wasn’t selected for the Faculty scholarship and the method of notification is different than what they said on the front end. They said they would let you know by email one way or another on a specific date. The date came and went and no notification.

We correctly assumed that “no news was bad news” and called to follow up, just so we could put it out of our minds. They said they would send out letters soon. The eventually did, and he was notified by mail about a week after they said they would email us.

If you are selected, however, it will show up in your “GoBaylor” account often before any official notification makes its way to you.

Son was in business session, and he had an essay specifically from the business session. We also didn’t receive any notification in snail mail or email; only saw the size of the merit award increase on his GoBaylor account.

I was accepted in early November. I wasn’t notified via mail with a packet until a week or two after the acceptance appeared online for those of you wondering still.

Thank you so much!

what exactly do you do during the academic sessions? I was emailed a handout with questions about a certain biological hazard situation ( I chose the art & sciences)…should I fill out the sheet and come prepared?
