@torquoiseworld Ack whoops, I meant I think it’s more selective, not necessarily better. Although the two oftentimes correlate…
@pielovereternal @torquoiseworld Kenyon is usually considered to be the 2nd “best”/whatever you want to call it after Iowa, but isn’t it true that Kenyon has never released admissions statistics, so no one really knows how competitive it is?
@GrandBudapest
That’s what I heard. Don’t know. BUT CONGRATS TO ALL WHO GOT IN!
GET IT BRUH! =D>
Anywho, can I switch sessions if I do get in? I have something coming up in July and would rather not choose between the two. (I’ll probably end up doin my July thang since I won’t get in. XD)
Also… does anyone else’s transcript upload still say “Received” and not “In-Progress” on Submittable (for Iowa)?
A bit worried here
@pielovereternal Mine also says received. You have nothing to worry about I don’t think they even look at it until they’ve made final decisions to verify that you’re a student (that’s what I’ve heard).
@GrandBudapest Ahhh ok, thank you so much!
Actually kind of disappointed about that, cause I’ve got pretty good grades and was hoping that might help my chances a smidgen, hahaaaa
@pielovereternal True, haha
2 days seems like forever. Do you know what time they are releasing?
@GrandBudapest
It does. It’s a good thing I got a busy schedule for tomorrow to make the day go faster.
Idk, I’m hoping in the morning though. Tuesday is the last day of spring break for me, so I’d rather the whole day to dry my tears than cry myself to sleep. :))
@pielovereternal
Don’t worry. My transcript still says “recieved” too.
I think they only check the ones for accepted students. But I doubt it would result in a status change, considering it’s just a quick glance with no other actions capable of being done. (eg. Voting, commenting, assigning, etc.)
@AlmightySadist Wait, so are you saying if you get accepted the Transcript will say “In-Progress” rather than received, or it won’t make a difference?
@GrandBudapest
It won’t make a difference.
I’ve been doing research, and apparently, a submission can be opened and even read without the status ever changing. In this case, to “in-progress.”
It only changes status when some action toward the submission has taken place. As insignificant as it being assigned to an editor, to it being voted or commented on.
However, it’s unlikely they vote, comment, or assign readers to transcripts.
Which means the status is unlikely to change, but that doesn’t mean they haven’t read it.
Did y’all know editors vote and comment on submissions?
For voting, they have a “Yes,” “No,” or “Maybe.”
Commenting, well, whatever they wanna comment.
@AlmightySadist They better email us in the morning, or else I’m going to be a nervous wreck at school! But at the same time, if they notify me of my rejection before school, I’ll be an emotional wreck
And omg, you’re scaring me even more! The idea that you can be rejected with one click of the “No” button
@GrandBudapest
I know right? That’s why I was so freaked when it was finally “in-progress.”
I thought, “Omg. They literally could be rejecting me this instant. Oml. I bet they’re voting me down!”
But I try to stay positive and hope they just assigned my story or something. XD XD XD
I’m so nervous for Tuesday right now. I’m dying, one day seems like forever.
Trying to not hope to get in D:
@pielovereternal Same D:
Day and a half left
:-S
I don’t like none of this guys. I’m a little freaked and kinda frustrated at the same time. Why ONE more day?? Just reject me now! XD
@AlmightySadist You have to believe in yourself! You never know what could happen!
@fitzgirl22
Haha, I’ll try!
