ipod or ipod mini?

It's not price efficient but I feel that it is much sleeker and offers a more appealing package for those who do not have that many MP3's. (If you are dling these MP3's illegally and are probably going to acquire many more, than a regular iPod might make more sense)

As for the discount, you just need to go the Apple Store and present your student ID card!

My collection is about 90% purchased as a CD (and much of the unpurchased stuff was only to decide on a purchase) and would need much more than a mini.

Also, you will be at college, chances are that you will be abusing your resources and have access to i2hub and the itunes collection of EVERY student on the network. Those songs could now start to pile up quick.

buying mini next week
praise the Lord

ive also heard about iPOD tattoos.. my friends have them, and you can change them.. but i dont know where they got them. has anybody else heard of them? iPODs are better.. plus with the tattoos u can change them and not stuck with the one color of the mini.

Yes...show your college admissions letter and you get a discount on ANY Apple product.

That's pretty awesome. You can get discount on other computer stuff if you go to certain colleges. coughUofTulsacough

Has anyone tried changing the ipod battery by themselves? I wouldnt want to send it in for 100 bucks when the battery costs 30 max.

UC Berkeley has a contract with Apple so that Berkeley's computer store has heavily discounted items; more so than Apple's website.

if you send it back in to change the battery, they actually give you a new ipod~~

if you're going to buy a 4th generation IPOD regular for 299, definately spend 50 dollars more for an IPOD PHOTO, which has awesome color and 10 more gigs-- i love my photo

you are eligible for the student discount, just look at the education store. Thats the only thing you can get a discount for.

Really? shostakovich-are you sure you get a new iPod? I just thought they changed the lithium battery and sent you back the same ipod. I really find it hard believing that they'd give you a new ipod for 100 bucks cause if they did then they wouldnt charge you full price for a new ipod if the one you own breaks.

I dont know about changing the battery, but when my Ipod just randomly broke they sent me a brand new one for only the cost of the shipping. It was nice.

do you guys know how much I get a discount? 20%? 95%? hehe

Student discount is pretty small. I would say 20% at the absolute most!

Yes, if you send your iPod in for a battery change you get back a referbished one. Unless your iPod is engraved, then you back the engraved part on a referbished iPod.

95%....ya right!

iPods are for poseurs. Sorry, someone has to tell you that before you buy one. You will know what I mean if you don't already.

student discount is better than the government discount. My parents work for the government but when we got my computer stuff for school last summer, we went /w the education price.

ipod is not only a thing that stores a lot of songs and looks nice, it also sounds a lot better than most mp3 players. Some of us just like music, we're not getting it just cause we're hype whores.

"iPods are for poseurs. Sorry, someone has to tell you that before you buy one. You will know what I mean if you don't already."

my friend just told me that he is not gonna buy ipod, because everyone buys IT. he would rather purchase iriver instead, presumably making him look distinguished.
