Ya, my school only offered 1 AP sophomore year. You are all good!! Don’t listen to the people who tell you otherwise (psstt… wisper they’re all just crazies)

so basically I think the general answer is…
1 is enough and will not bar you from getting into the school of your choice
2 is fine if you can swing it, but colleges will not look at you more highly because you took 2, because many students are only allowed to take 1 (if any AP courses allowed sophomore year).

if you do take 2, I would suggest doing an easy one and a hard one (Human, Euro) rather than 2 hard ones.

Thanks! I appreciate it Slave.

I was going to take AP Art History and AP World History but I’m just taking AP World History now. I had to take a foreign language.

Good, stick with the foreign language. It will be better anyway.

Thanks I rather take 3 years of a foreign language too!

My school only offers 1, APUSH, for sophmores. We aren’t even allowed to take any as a freshmen, no exceptions. I took 4 this past year, and will be taking 4 next year (as classes), and will probably take Spanish (I will be in Spanish 5, and a bunch of us are going to study for it together since there aren’t any AP foriegn languages at my school) and might self study Psych. I took the regular class this year and knew people who self studied the rest and thought they did well.

6 is definately enough to be competitive for good schools as long as you have a good GPA, test scores and EC’s to back them up. At my school the most people usually take is 4. The only people who take more are people in the Advanced Math/ Science/ Computer program.

Thanks. I am supposed to take APUSH my junior year.

I took Bio, Stat, and Chem sophomore year and got okay scores (5,5,4), but I took those because I love math and science with almost all my heart (a little bit is reserved for, you know, people =p ). You should be fine with 1 AP and you should be fine with 436278 APs. Just do what you love and everything will work out fine–college admissions are holistic. ;)

Thanks so much!

In my school, AP World/Regular Global History is a two year course, and thus Freshman can’t take an AP. In Sophomore Year, Art History and World open up, but Art History hasn’t been offered forever because no one signs up for it. =/ Junior and Senior year you can take whatever you have room for.

Art History wasn’t offered this year too for anyone, because no one signed up for it.
