<p>I just got my scores in the mail. Is 10 good for the writing or should I keep taking it? Can I not do the writing anymore and just send in my best scores for future tests without it?</p>

<p>"Good" is relative. There should be a chart on the actstudent website that gives percentile ranks for writing scores.</p>

Most colleges will want the ACT with writing. If you take the ACT again without writing, you will have to send your first score also. For example, let's say your composite was 30 and writing was 10 on your first attempt. second attempt composite is 35, no writing. Now you are forced to send the 30 to colleges as well as the 35, because the 30 has the writing. I think it makes more sense to take the writing each time</p>
<p>i'm stuck in a 10 cycle, on all my practice tests (that my tutor scored) and on the actual ACT i got 10s. any advice as to possibly getting me over this threshold into an 11? that's what i really want</p>

<p>i got a 33 though...i just can't seem to figure out these standardized essays...my writing comes slow, and needs time to incubate and be honed. will an 8 really hurt me that bad though?</p>
