is 2.6 GPA too low? Rate me plz

I currently have a 2.6 gpa in only my UC transferable courses, but after fall It will most likely be a 2.78 almost 2.8. I want to apply to UC Santa Cruz and SFSU. My backups are CSUMB,CSUEB, and HSU but I want to go to either UCSC OR SFSU. Do I have a chance?

CSU’s yes, UC’s no

Well i’m aware of the fact that different UC’s are easier and harder to get into, and UCSC isn’t among the harder. And would SFSU count as a CSU?

i think there’s a chance…
ill admit it may be a bit diffcult, but it never hurts to apply.
is there any way you can take some more classes to raise your gpa to a 2.9-3.0 range?

Hi,

Go to csumentor.com for all info on CSU’s including GPA, required courses, and campus comparisons. Yes, SFSU is a CSU. If you have a 2.6, first you’ll need to recalculate the GPA according to CSU/UC guidelines, and then you’ll need a certain SAT score to be eligible. The chart for GPA and corresponding SAT scores is on the site.

The CSU app for fall 2010 is posted as of today, and applications need to be done by 11/30, however the sooner the better, because many CSU’s are impacted and all are affected by the budget cuts.

I assume you are in CA. If you live OOS, then the admissions requirements are higher.
