Is 5 AP classes too much???

I’m about to go into my junior year and I’m planning on taking:

AP US History
AP Physics
AP English 3
AP Statistics
AP Psychology

How hard would the workload be? Sophomore year I just took WHAP and got a 5 on that test, however that class alone took up a lot of my time. All answers are appreciated. Thanks.

In my experience workload depends almost entirely on teacher difficulty and personal confidence in each subject. Last year for me (junior year) I took AP Calc, Physics 1 (took C test), Chemistry, Lang and Comp, and US History. For English we had to primarily just read and write a couple papers throughout the year as homework which wasn’t too bad. The main problem for me was US History which my teacher is known for being extremely rigorous and giving tons of homework. This class took more time for me than the four others combined and I got my first B’s in each semester. Also, I am not strong in history which increased the homework consumption also. In terms of studying for the AP Exams it is not especially hard as long as you start well ahead of the exam (start in October/November a few minutes a day in each subject) and I ended up getting 5’s in all. Good Luck!

I think as long as you are a good time manager you will be fine. US History is a lot of reading, but AP English, Stats and Psych are all relatively easy classes.
