are these AP classes too much to handle?

hey, in my junior year i will be taking 6 AP classes
APUSH
AP psych
AP human geo
AP statistics
AP environmental science
AP chem
how much time do u guys think each of these classes will take, most of the classes here are available every other day except chem (every day for 2 semesters). anyway, i was hoping to study for my SAT this year ( i have to improve by 600 points) i was wondering if i will have enough time to study and do HW so i can get an A in these classes and study for the SAT at the same time.

Last year i took all honors classes and finished all my homeworks relatively quickly except for English and chem. those two took anywhere from 1-2 hours a day (i got all A’s last year if that’s any help)

how hard is each AP class? and how much work for each?
thanks for ur help!

You look like you are collecting AP Classes…where is Math? Where is English? Where is foriegn language?

600 points is a tall order

the reason i’m taking statistics is because it is a math class

What level of Math did you take last year? I agree with @bopper, colleges expect 4 years of English in HS along with a minimum 2-3 years foreign language. What about your HS graduation requirements? Don’t you need 4 years English to graduate? Was this schedule approved by your counselor?

I can only speak for APUSH and AP Psych because I took those (but not in the same year):

-APUSH requires information typically learned in a US History I and II sequence. You have to be able to take the information you know and apply it in writing. It requires a time commitment and you have to be able to study for it at least a few hours a week. I received a 4 on the Exam, and for good review, I suggest you take the SAT US History if you plan on taking the APUSH exam

-AP Psych is definitely easier than APUSH. You still have to apply information alongside memorizing it and there is a time commitment. I took this course in my senior year (2 years ago) and it’s not that bad. Just be on top on everything and you should be ok.

6 APs sounds incredibly intimidating. You’re going to have to spend a lot of time on each subject if you want to do well. Be sure to balance out everything and leave some time for ECs and for yourself. You gotta relax in between studying, otherwise, you’ll burn yourself out.

On top of that, improving by 600 points on the SAT sounds like a long shot. But hey, I got from a 26 to a 32 on my ACT from September to June. I urge you to be careful with what you’re getting into here: 6 APs + SAT studying sounds like you’ll just run on empty. I’m not discouraging you here, I’m just cautioning you.

Just curious, why not AP Calc AB or BC instead of AP Stats?

probably the best advice i got! haha and i am planning on taking calc, but i can’t take it this year since i have to take pre-calc. i"ve updated my schedule to APUSH, AP literature and composition, AP stat and chem( 4 ap classes) what do you think of this schedule? do you think if i replace statistics with some other non-math class it will lower my chances of being admitted to a college with an intended major in computer science? And most importantly, with this schedule- do u think i’ll have time to studty for my sat? And i’d love to hear more about how u improved ur ACT by 6 points.

Isn’t AP Lit for seniors? But, it’s been a year since I’ve graduated HS so maybe things have changed.

The 4 AP’s you’re taking are pretty good, but can you take AP Comp Sci/Principles instead of Stats since you said you want to go into computer science? I don’t think dropping AP Stats will hurt you. If you can keep your courses rigorous while also keeping your grades up, you should be good.

By dropping 2 AP’s, you should have some more time to study for the SAT, but I’m just not sure by how much. I got the 32 by using Barron’s and studying for SAT Math II at the same time. In the end, I spent so much time on the ACT than the SAT subject that I wasn’t really into studying for Math II after the ACT was done (my parents kinda forced me to do Math II). I don’t regret studying for Math II because it got my ACT Math score up by 11 points from 23 to 34. Just keep doing practice tests. See what you got wrong. Work at those trouble spots until you “get it”.

by Sat math 2 are u talking about the subject test?

I just saw this now, so sorry about that. Yup, it’s the subject test!
