As the title insists.. is a SAT 2110 good enough for Stern admissions?
thanks for all replies in advance!

It’s an overall average SAT for Stern, but the SAT II is good. It would depend on what your GPA is. Anything above a 3.7+ would be good.

I just want to know my chances for STERN

International Student but American Citizen

GPA. 3.55 UW
Courses: 3 IB High Level, 4 IB Standard Level
SAT 1: 2110
SAT 2: Math 1: 720, Chinese: 790

A lot of extracurricular activities and service. Good recommendations, and started individual business related project.

What are my chances for STERN ED II?

haha ^ can someone please chance him/her?
we are sort of in the similar situation! i do IB too, except my school doesnt rank nor have GPA because, according to our cousellor… IBO doesnt have a GPA conversion system…
so, Im wondering, what is a good IB grade, out of 42, for Stern RD then? and how much does predicted IB grades count?

thanks!

Your GPA is going to hurt your chances. The average for Stern is somewhere around 3.7+. Your SAT scores are also average at just 2,100. (Here on CC we recommend a minimum 2100 to apply to Stern).

hey @NYU2013,
so do you think 2110 SAT stand a chance or so? because i’ve read the class of 2015 decisions thread and loads of people who got in had over 2200 SATs! im really worried now.
btw do you know anything regarding an IB grade?

The minimum recommend is 2100 for Stern. So you have a chance.

And I’m not at all familiar with IB grades.

SAT scores aren’t important once you crack 2000, my teachers good friend is an admissions officer believe it or not. The real factor is EC’s and the essays. After all the amount of students with 4.0’s and 2000+ SATs isn’t exactly a rarity for a school like stern, and truth be told there is very little difference between a 2100 and a 2300 or a 3.5 and a 4.0.

@NYU2013

I was told in the past that Stern does not place a lot of weight into the SAT Writing. Does this still hold true? (btw it would be great if they did actually care since my break down is M: 710, CR: 710, W: 750).

@Vindonnus

There is a HUGE difference between a 2300 and a 2100 and an even bigger difference between a 3.5 and a 4.0. Please don’t state things without evidence to back it up.
