Is a 29 on the ACT good for the first time?

I just got my ACT scores back from taking it for the first time in June while I was a junior. I studied for only a week because I was busy studying for finals.

Composite:29
English: 32
Mathematics: 24 (I know, its really bad. Math has always been my weak point. I'm going to study for it no though.)
Reading: 31
Science:27 (pretty bad, I ran out of time.)

But if I study over the summer, how many points do you think I could boost my composite?
I want to try for at least a 32 the second time.

For most schools, a 29 is pretty good. For the more competitive schools you’ll want to get that up. Personally I’ve found math is the easiest score to improve so hopefully that’s true with you. If I were you I’d focus on the math and try to get it up to at least a 30 and same with the science.

If you put in the time a composite 32 is completely do able with summer study.
