I heard most people said the worst grade you could get in writing 140 is probably a B, so I was pretty upset when I got my final portforlio.....I tried so hard but only got a B-.....and I totally screwed up this semester...probably end up with a 2.5 GPA....:((( Does it mean it's nearly impossible for me to get into Marshall?????
I took Calc in another college and got an A, but I still need to take Econ 351 in spring. I'm thinking about not taking any GE next semester. If I get an average 3.0 this year, is it still hopeful? The advisor said I need a 3.5, but I heard some people got into Marshall with 3.0 and 3.1.
Has anyone successfully transferred to Marshall here? Any experience or suggestions? :)

My son transferred in Marshall from another major at USC and the counselor at Marshall told him they have found their business students to be either very strong in the math department or strong in the writing field. I Woundnt let a B- distroy you. It may take a little longer to get into Marshall then you thought. You need to really focus on the Pre Reqs and geting your GPA up.

This semester I had all 8am classes, and I actually took 2 GEs with writing 140 and BUAD 280…totally a BAD idea. I’m actually going to take my last prerequisite, Econ 351, with 3 easy classes next semester, and hope I can get a 3.7+ GPA. That’ll bring my GPA up to 3.0 this year.

I got into Marshall with a 3.128 and a B- in Writ-140… coming from architorture, though, so GPA is probably not a good benchmark to go by with me haha

Thanks for sharing…I think I need an extra semester for a GPA boost before I apply Marshall…my back-up plan is IR Global Business though…I won’t be desparate if I don’t get in.
Which professor do you have for Econ 351?

I had Alonso, who I do not recommend unless you can learn purely from the textbook… going to class didn’t help me at all
