Is admission contingent on 2nd semester grades?

Do admitted students have to turn in their second semester grades at the end of the school year? And if so, how likely would admission be rescinded for a typical straight A student who got a B? My daughter doesn’t plan on getting any B’s, but she would love to not be stressed about it. Thanks!

A B (or two or three) is totally fine. You want her to avoid D’s and F’s.

Yes

Not gonna happen.

No D’s, no F’s, and no felonies is the general trick to not getting rescinded.

While true for universities, keep in mind that OP is asking about secondary schools, which may have more stringent requirements. That said, no acceptance will be withdrawn for a B.

I have friends whose GPAs similarly dropped after HS admissions came out (I think one guy even got a high C or two). I don’t think they care.

There is a point where they will care.

Again, only on CC does B=bad. Sigh.

Getting a B won’t be an issue. But as pointed out above, getting in trouble with the law can be a problem. Also know that several years ago a bunch of students who were accepted at Harvard were rescinded for putting offensive memes into a group chat.

Would be good to warn your student.

I don’t even remember having to send in second semester grades for Kiddo1.

Just keep doing the same things that got you accepted and there are no worries. They usually have the counselor send them in, but I recall D21 received an email that she should make sure before school was out that they did so.
I put it on my calendar to get a copy in the event something went wrong.

Thanks, everyone! My daughter hasn’t even gotten into any schools yet, but she’ll breathe more easily knowing that the arrow has left the bow.
