i keep seeing posts on CC which say that 750+ on writing is incredibly easy to achieve and it's basically a joke ?

hey, i hope it is cause that is the only part that i got an 800 in.

800 in any section is impressive.

agreed. some schools don’t look at writing, but for the very top schools, it IS factored in as part of your total score. so an 800 is great :)

well i know out of the 800s Stanford accepts the greatest %age of Writing 800s…

but that is likely due to the lurking varible of essay quality, those who get 800s on writing probably wrote killer college app essays…

i hope so cuz i got 800 on writing. twice!!

^hey pigs. People are busting your chops in the Yale forum in the thread “Quadruplets admitted into Yale”
Go check it out.

^I KNOW THAT
do i care?

jeez…just saying…don’t get testy with me…

yoooo started it so go away

yes, my chops, literally

HIGH FIVE PIGS! at your 800 and the pun

i just feel kind of disappointed thinking that a lot of people believe an 800 in W is worthless in comparison to M or CR : (

(sniff)
Yeah, it probably is worthless. It was also the only 800 I got this time. And it was my first try. As a freshman. When I failed even MATH!!

So yes. I’d consider it pretty frivolous. You apparently don’t even need a 12 essay or a 80 MC to get an 800 lol.

Did you know some people only get 800 on math. On their first try. As freshmen. When they even fail CR and Writing! doesnt mean the score if frivolous or worthless.

you dont need a 12 or an 80 MC to get an 800 but you DO have to score VERY close to a 12 or an 80 to get that 800. quit being stupid. lol.

Edit: aren’t you the kid in the sat score results thread who said a 22-- as a freshman (for the first time) is an epic fail? LMAO.

Um, wheatbread, I may fail SAT and PSAT, but YOU fail to take into consideration my current situation lol. Reading your post, I sound…eh, kind of lame. However, I can safely defend myself by saying that you sort of took that out of context. One, I took the PSAT to lessen the rage of my ridiculous parents after I completely screwed up a piano recital. Naturally, my concentration/focus on testing day was heightened compared to other nothing-to-lose juniors lol.

Next, I took the SAT on a bet to score higher than this other junior I was annoyed with. Naturally, I also had more at stake than other people.

Wait, and aren’t you the person who was crying about their 2380? Except, oh wait-
Were you, um, by any chance, mocking me with that?

…ouch. :(

I have gotten 800 in writing twice (including this Dec 09 test). Too bad some colleges don’t look at it.

bump!!!

It’s impressive, but as mabsjenbu123 said, some colleges don’t really look at the writing score or hold the other subjects as more important than writing.

In October, I scored an 8 on my essay and answered all but three multiple choice questions correctly to garner a mere 690, so I’d say that 800 is a pretty good achievement.

800 writing is impressive. to me.
