Is AP Psych valued much by colleges?

So I have an empty slot left for next year and I don't know what to take with it. I'm already taking 3 APs, and I'm trying to decide for the last slot if I should take AP Psych or Anatomy and Physiology. I like A&P but does AP Psych appear more rigorous to colleges, simply because of the AP title? Which ones should I take?

At my school it’s mandatory for 12th graders to take ap psych, or just human behavior. If it were me I would take A&P and self study Psych. You could probably study a few weeks ahead for the psych ap test and still get a 5.

I do not think a college would weigh one class over the other. It wont be much of a deciding factor in admissions so just take what you are most interested in.

Yeah I’m more interested in Human A&P even though I think Psych is also cool. Does it not matter on my college application? Having an AP is generally better, right?

And yeah I thought about self-studying AP Psych, but the class doesn’t appear on my transcript so is that less attractive to college?

Colleges like seeing you take initiative and challenge yourself, especially if you get a 5. The main thing for ap classes is upping your gpa.

well then is self-study and get a 5 on the exam better than taking the class and get a A and 5? Self-studying is obviously harder and I figure colleges will value that more.

If you have room for an ap, then you should take the class and take the ap test. You can raise your gpa and get college credit.

Any subject where you could “study a few weeks ahead…and still get a 5,” isn’t going to have the shine you think, with adcoms.
