<p>If you’re in a major that requires the 201-202-203 sequence (like bio, biochem, marine bio), then yes, it’s required. If not, taking 202-203 with the labs would satisfy the “one year of college biology” that medical schools are looking for.</p>

That page has pretty much all the courses to take/need to take, it’s the same info given out during orientation for pre med people.</p>
<p>You don’t have to take 201 to meet premed requirements if you’re taking 202 and 203 with the labs (204 and 205), but it’s a more interesting class than a lot of people give it credit for. In particular if you have a chance to take it with Futuyma as one of the professors you should do it; he’s fabulous.</p>
