And in the colleges defense everyone could have applied since like august, so the schools view the procrastination as a noncomittal effort, and see it almost as an insult to their school’s importance to the applicant. So error or not, the character made apparent by these mihaps are qualities schools dont want to see, unless you explain it like I did in my.previous post. But even then, youre still pushing daisies.

Whom should I mail regarding the issue. (@Stanford?)
Can you please give me the email ID.

Pressing the submit button was the greatest thrill of 2014.

the admissions office. Not sure the specific one for stanford. Google it fast. And also think of how many other students are emailing with the same thing right now, so I’d approach it sincerely at least.

And for those of us who submitted payments, but error-out on the signature page, are we doubly-screwed? No extension, and no refund?

@blayce you are wrong to say “that none of their member schools are willing to extend the deadline” because my supplement went through which means applications, at least by some schools, are being accepted after the deadline.

Not sure, but I wouldnt get your hopes up, becuase as of now, youre pretty much screwed over.

When you email Stanford, they’ll send an automated message saying its closed for winter break… Managed to send my last two in but passed the deadline sadly. =/

I still can’t get “Geography” or “Language” to check off. I’m about to lose my mind.

You can submit after deadlines, but the college might not accept any after the time is up.

Will we be notified by the college that rejects a 10 minute late application?

Anyone with checking issues:
If you clear out all of the forms completely, save it, and then go back and refill them in, they should check properly.

I was able to submit mine a little under 2 hours late…

I guess you’ll find out haha. I’m not sure, but cross your fingers.

@redkip
That still doesn’t work for me on geography or language!

I bet CommonApp is just trying to limit submission traffic by making some common app sections incomplete. My guess is that applications will still be accepted by schools and this will as pass by with little consequence. Even if your schools don’t accept your application, then that’s a tasteless move by them and maybe they’re not right for you anyways.

Relax a little guys.

"The Office of Undergraduate Admission is aware that students are experiencing difficulties submitting their application materials. Please wait for Common Application to resolve the technical issues they are experiencing. Stanford has extended the application deadline to allow students to submit through January 2. If you are able to successfully submit your Common Application, fee or fee waiver and Stanford Supplement, we will send an acknowledgement email to you within a week. We will monitor the Common Application situation and will post updates as needed.

Best regards,

Just got this.

I’m going crazy, my profile section can’t get checks on them

@MilfHunter
I had some trouble with those at first too. You need to COMPLETELY clear them out. That means opening up each language, unchecking everything, clearing the languages, and then finally clearing the number of languages.
Geography was a little trickier. I don’t know how exactly I fixed that one, but it involved some combination of clearing and saving different parts. If you keep trying, it’ll work eventually!

StanCardinal: Where did you get that message from?

Deadline has been extended a day!
