Is economics supposed to be easy?

I'm self-studying AP economics. I'm almost done learning microeconomics (I'm using Mankiw's book and 5 Steps to a 5). At first I found it confusing, but then something clicked in my brain and now everything seems easy. I feel kinda scared because I didn't think it would be this easy without a class, and I'm wondering if I'm missing something. Or maybe I have a gift for economics lulz.

For people who've scored well on the test and self-studied (or anyone who has taken the class/test), was economics easy for you?

I’m thinking about self studying micro/macro too, and I’d appreciate any feedback about the tests :o

Thanks!

I am currently self-studying Macro/Micro, and I am done Macro (currently fine-tuning my abilities), and I do not find it extremely hard. If you can retain the terms they use as well as the formulas, you will do great. Once you get that down, try to learn the actual theory behind everything so you can engage in intellectual debates over how to fix the current crisis, lol.

I’m considering self-studying AP Econ, too. Since my school doesn’t offer it all, my regular economics teacher gave me an AP textbook & workbook. Sorry if this is a stupid question, but is it typical to take both Macro & Micro tests, or do most people just choose one?

I think most people take both. My school doesn’t offer AP Econ classes either, so I’m planning to self-study AP Micro/Macro next year.

At some universities, the introductory economics course is one course (instead of a micro course and macro course), and you will need to take both AP Economics (micro and macro) to get subject credit for it if AP credit is accepted for it.
