Is FSU a difficult school to get a good GPA? Like around 3.4 and up. I’m planning to major in Exercise Science. Out of Fsu and UF which school is harder?
I can’t find any GPA info for FSU, but I would think it’s about the same rigor as UF’s. UF’s info is available:

Table II-1
At UF, Exercise Science would fall under the college of Health & Human Performance (at FSU it’s the College of Human Sciences), which had an average GPA of 3.51 for fall 2014. Keep in mind that it’s competitive to get into those programs/colleges, so those students that make the cut tend to do well.
Good Luck!
I’m not really sure how accurate this information is, but I have heard from several of my friends who already graduated that UF is harder than FSU. But I honestly don’t know. I’m still in high school applying to colleges.
It’s difficult to give an objective answer to this question.
One school may have a higher average GPA, but the reason for this is difficult to isolate. Are the classes easier, or are the instructors good at teaching (as opposed to research)? And, this is something that will vary over time. Most departments have regular faculty changes, so a “tough” instructor may leave and be replaced by an “easy” grader.
“I have heard from several of my friends who already graduated that UF is harder than FSU.”
Of course they’ll say that. They went to UF, want to promote UF, and presumably hate FSU. They have no way of knowing what the classes at FSU are like unless they attended both universities. You’ll find very few people who attended both universities as an undergrad.
Actually studies have shown the stronger the students are at your school the “poorer” you perform. So lets say your the top 75% at fsu but 50% at UF then theoretically you would do better GPA wise at FSU. I watched a youtube video stating the reason for this is because you generally compare yourself to your peers and if their smarter than you then you wont feel up to par. Of course you probably would have around the same gpa at both schools but it’s interesting to think about.
Nothing “presumably” here buddy, it’s PURE HATE!! :((
I don’t think it’s a case of one school being harder than another. It’s more a case of some majors being much more competitive at one school vs. another. This can go both ways,
In majors that tend toward pre-med, UF is likely more competitive, which would make it harder to get A’s. Other majors, at FSU, may be more competitive than at UF.
If a major at FSU is “limited access” that a fairly good sign that it’s very competitive.
Exercise Science is a tough major pretty much anywhere, primarily due to the high level chemistry courses you’ll take.
Whether FSU or UF is more difficult for that specific program is probably a toss-up. They’re going to have mostly similar requirements for the program.
I attended a community college for two years and transferred into FSU as a junior. I feel the difficulty of a course depends on the instructor. I had some of my toughest classes/teachers in the community college. I also had some tough courses at FSU. So, I really think it depends on the course content AND the instructor more than the school.
