Is is possible that someone rejected by UCLA and UCSD and get in UC Berkeley?

I got rejected by both UCLA and UCSD, I am so sad :(

I’m in the same boat as you…the only sliver of hope I have is because I got a supplement.

But right now my confidence is completely shot. :(

@MantisToboggan, I also received supplement from UCB, I hope it helps :(

I also got rejected by both. My only hope now is UCSB, UCM, or UCB
They should at least accept us to one UC

Got the talent supplement

Got rejected by LA, and SD…waiting on UCD and UCB

ME TOO! Sadly, I got rejected from both UCLA and UCSD… But yeah, I actually did get a supplement too. I think it was the financial hardship/borderline one.

Is there anyone currently in Berkeley who got rejected from UCLA and UCSD? Do tell pleeeease!

Well UCB IS the most competitive UC campus to get into so … not gonna lie, your chances don’t look TOO good.

I would not, however, say it is impossible. Just have faith and wait until decisions. good luck! and plus, your decisions have been made and it’s not going to change. I know you guys are looking for comfort but it’s better to stay calm.

possible? yes
likely? no

This student(only ONE) from my school last year got rejected from both UCSD and UCLA, but got into Berkeley, so don’t lose out on all hope just yet. Everyone else at my high school that got rejected from both got rejected from Berk.

DAMN

this year sounds harsh.

Yes and no.

Why no? Because they get a lot of apps so they have VERY high standards

Why yes? Because they appear to be one of the only UC campuses that evaluate students holistically, as opposed to assigning them a rigid numerical score and admitting the students with the highest however-many scores. (students still get a score at Cal, but unlike UCLA/UCSD/etc it’s not an inflexible maximum of 4000 for GPA, 2000 for SAT, 1000 for essay, etc)

Last year there were quite a few people from my school that got into Berkeley but not UCLA or UCLA but not Berkeley, but I don’t know of a single person that got into Berkeley after being rejected from UCSD. =/

It is possible, however, that UCSD has increased its standards significantly for this year.

^Wats up fellow sikh, i have to agree UC acceptances have been really weird this year, but thank god i got into UCSD

I’m rather anxious over UCB decisions considering I got in at UCLA, but waitlisted for UCSD. I’ve heard that LA and SD are more numbers based, while UCB is more holistic. I find it a bit weird that I’d get in LA and not SD.

Yea i got into LA after recieving a supplement. I didnt get into SD, scared for berk. Thry’re apparently more holistic but its also more competitve. I didnt get a supplement from them so im either rejected or accepted. Cant help but think its the first one :(

I didn’t get a supplement from LA, but I did get the likely letter. I’m a bit baffled because my stats weren’t that high (4.17W, 2090, 800MII, 740 Physics), but LA is supposed to be more numbers based. I’m just holding out the hope that Cal sees whatever LA saw in my app.

i dont think ucsd is numbers based if they took my 1780 sats, 4.0 weighted, 640 math 680 bio

What major did you apply for?

Well honestly I don’t know what to think of the UC’s anymore. I got into UCD, UCSD, but got rejected by UCLA and I know plenty of people with way lower numbers than me who got into UCLA. I honestly have absolutely NO IDEA what to expect from Cal. I really do hope that Cal is the more well rounded school and UCLA is the number based.

me? computer science
