what are you chance if u get the UCB borderline supplement? Rejected by UCLA and UCSD already

Dont sweat it dude, i got a supplement from ucla and got accepted

I realllly wanna go to Berk but i didnt get one and i suspect thats what got me into LA

Back on topic here, yes it is possible. I know someone who was rejected from Irvine, San Diego, and Los Angeles (only accepted at Davis) who got into Berkeley; another who only got accepted only into Irvine, Riverside, Merced, and Berkeley (but he’s not doing that well); and finally someone rejected to Los Angeles and San diego but accepted to Berkeley. However, all of these people had unique personal statements (except the first, he had interesting ECs) that emphasized family hardship.

highimpactyogo: thank you for your post, i hope i can be one of the lucky people

Guys, there’s a lot of luck involved. That’s it. One of my roommates got rejected by UCSD but accepted to UCLA and Berkeley. My other roommate got rejected by UCLA and accepted to UCSD and Berkeley (for the spring, he did FPF).

LUCK.

@bluecow, if you are in computer science, I hope you applied to UCSB, they are in the top 10

The UC’s have been exceptionally harsh this year and competition is increasing. it really sucks. a lot of my friends with pretty solid stats have been rejected or waitlisted by UCLA and UCSD

If you didn’t get accepted into UC San Diego, it is highly unlikely you were accepted to Berkeley.

The few rare exceptions are usually kids from disadvantaged schools/backgrounds, often with many URMs. (You should know IMMEDIATELY if this is you.)

^I agree, it is highly unlikely, unless you have some special circumstances.

My roommate got rejected from UCSD and UCLA but she (obviously) got into Cal. Don’t lose hope. :)

chances of getting into cal if I got into LA, and rejected by SD and maybe even Irvine??

If u rejected by UCI, u chance is really small

There is no way to predict anything this year. I just talked to my high school counselor and she is shocked about who did not get into UCLA and UCSD. Very different from past few years. Who knows why…it just is what it is. After not getting into UCLA, wait listed at UCSD I have no doubt I will not get into Berkeley. With my GPA, rigor of classes, EC, test scores(2200, 34) I never thought I would be in this position.

totally agree, I hope miracle happens on me ;)

i’m in the same situation.
my friend’s sister was rejected from ucla and ucsd, yet was accepted to berkeley.
so there is still hope!! :)
