I am taking 4 AP Tests on May,
and I was just wondering if it's good idea to take Math level2 and USH on May, too.
I already signed up for June SAT1, and I don't want to take SAT2 test no later than May, but people are telling me that taking AP test and SAT is not a good idea. Should I take SAT2 tests later? like on October? but I'm afraid that I will forget all the material that I've learned at that time.
and I also thought about taking SAT1 on March , and take SAT2 on June, but I don't think I will be ready for SAT1 by March.
What would you guys do If you are in my shoes? :(

I took 3 subject tests in May in the middle of 5 AP Exams. It was the best thing because I took the subject tests in the same subjects as the APs, so I did not really have to do any extra studying. It makes for a hellish two weeks but it worked out nicely in the end I think.

If my S were to do it again, he would have taken his Subject SAT II exams in May of JR year when he was studying for APs anyway. As it was, he took the SATIIs in June & had to study for those subjects all over again, since his classes ended after the AP exams. He did well anyway, but said if he had known, he would have preferred not to restudy in June. He took US History & Physics for both.

I agree with the previous posts. Definitely do it while the stuff is fresh in your mind, having them in the midst of APs really won't stress you out too much.

Thoguh I took mine in June and didn't restudy...feeling as though there was a significant different between May and June seems kind of silly to me.
But if you're doing SATI in June, definitely don't wait until October to do the IIs.

thank y'all!!!
I think I will sign up for the May SAT subject tests now!

I agree with the above posts, if your taking the SAT II subjects that correlate with the AP subjects you are taking then you should be fine. Good Luck :)

Definatly take the U.S. History one right after you take the AP test. There is no way you will have as much knowledge of the subject a month or couple months after you take the AP test. From personal experience, I spent a lot of time preparing for the AP exam which naturally transferred over to the subject test well (800). The subject test is a breaze compared to the AP. It's more like graph/chart/cartoon interpretation than history knowledge (that's not to say there isn't a lot of factual questions, just not as many as on the AP and not as difficult imo).

Son took the May subject tests, too. But, speak with your precalc teacher to make sure you'll cover enough material for Math 2 by May. Our HS didn't cover some of the trig stuff until Sept senior year in Calc (don't ask).

If you don't cover enough in your pre-calc class for Math2 by May, you could take the Math2 exam either in the June exam or in the fall exam, when they're reviewing all the precalc in calculus (& physics if that's a course being taken). That's what my S did & got an 800 in the fall of SR year because both AP physics C & calc AB were reviewing all the precalc stuff.

Take them right away. I made the mistake of not doing that, and my scores are much lower than they should be. I got a 5 on AP History, but got a 640 on the SAT II (which I took in October). Don't wait.
