First, is there anyone planning to take both SAT and AP in May?

My friend avoid taking them both in May last year because she thinks she can't prepare adequately when she has both of them.
Btw, I self-study for the AP, and I am an international.

Just wondering if this is a good idea? And have you taken them both? What's your opinion on this?

Do you mean the SAT Reasoning test? That may be a bit hard to study for, especially if it’s your first time. If you’re talking about subject tests… you definitely want to take the corresponding SAT II exams as close to the APs as possible.

Especially if you’re self-studying for APs, I don’t think it’s a good idea. You’re going to want to prepare for the SAT when you don’t have any other huge standardized tests looming over your head, and there’s no way you can put off studying for APs until May 2.

Yes, it’s not a bad idea. A lot of kids in the US study for AP’s and SAT’s to take in May. As long as you’re adequately prepared, I wouldn’t worry about it.

Just note: taking the SAT too many times can harm your application. Try not to take it more than twice (this would be your last time hopefully, so make sure you’re prepared).

I am planning to take the SAT in February. Then, my first SAT Subject in March, my second in April, the AP exams in May, then my last in June. I think it’ll work for me. How’s this for a suggestion? =]

Okay WOW but isn’t it a bit tiring to have tests every month? If you’re prepared, of course you can also do that. Subject Tests will be good preparation for APs. Good luck! (:
