You guys are all wrong, these are stereotypes… I am a part of a sorority. Every campus is different so 1 don’t judge one Greek lettered organization because of another. I joined my sorority because we support Autism Speaks and my little brother has Autism. I remember watching a video about what AXID does for Autistic children and how much money they raise for them each year and that is what made me want to go Greek and be a sister to them. I have almost been in for 3 years now and I’ve made some of the most supportive friends in my life time. One of our sisters car got towed and everyone chipped in a few bucks and we got her car out because that’s what sisters are for, to help each other when we get into a sticky situation. We have to keep our grades up and keep a certain gpa in order to maintain membership. If a sister is caught doing inappropriate things she can actually get suspended from the chapter because we don’t want sisters that will make us look like we like inappropriate actives. We want powerful women who want to become a leader and to realize their potential in this crazy world. Please keep in mind not all Greek letters are bad and we all are different. Remember not to judge before you get to know people! Thanks for reading and I hope I have gave you some great insight on Greek affiliation!
I did not get hazed and I honestly wouldn’t have joined my sorority if getting hazed was a part of it. My college runs an anti hazing week! Also, it’s not all about looks and the only reason it takes so long to be pledged in is because we have to teach the new members about our history and help them find their Big or best friend in the chapter. We want them comfortable and want to know if they are in it for the right reasons!
