is it bad to not take a science junior year?

i really have little to no interest in science, and I got into an ap photography class that I really want to take next year. but, the only possible way to take it would be to drop something else, and i don't really want to drop any of my 3 other electives (hehe) so i was thinking of not doing physics honors. is that bad if i am more interested in english/music/arts?
my schedule for next year:
symphony, apush, english honors, precalc, physics honors, japanese 4, spanish 5.
i want to replace physics with AP art studio.
will this hurt my college application?

It depends. What types of colleges are you targeting? The very selective ones require applicants to push themselves academically. If you’re hoping for a spot in a top 50 college, then YES, you diminish your chances because your peers are pushing themselves – even in difficult subject matters.

Best of luck to you

Well, your GC will not likely mark your course load as most rigorous, which could hurt you at highly selective colleges. However, most schools recommend at least 3 years of science, so you can certainly take the class your senior year, if you are confident that it won’t make your senior schedule so overwhelming.

you have physics… in my school that’s a science

As long as you meet your school district’s graduation requirements, you will be fine.

Make an appointment with your guidance counselor, and talk about your goals for your education and your life. He/she should have suggestions for you.

no i dont think u have to i mean if u dont like it then y do it right???

@Nervus Breakdown OP said that they want to replace physics with ap art

IMHO Take science. It always helps.

what does “IMHO” stand for? sry im new at this lol

In my honest opinion.

For future reference, Google is your friend.

ohhh, hahahha. :)

yeah i’m looking toward UCs, liberal arts stuff, nyu, maybe an ivy? yeah i don’t really know though
i guess i should take it. i just really don’t want to haha. do any of you guys know if private schools accept online community college courses? i was thinking about taking history over the summer and it’s accepted by UCs/CSUs, but will it count for private college?
thanks guys~
