I moved recently to the school I am at and will graduate next year. I have friends but I don't feel a part of the community or like I've bonded with the grad class. I have little family here and I see attending grad next year pointless.

I just want my diploma and want to move on to college. Is this possible? Would I just get my diploma afterwards?

thanks, and yes I know how this is some big tradition but it holds no sentimental meaning to me. besides high school is a formality not an accomplishment.

I did not go to my middle school graduation because I did not feel that I was part of the community.
Anyway, ask your family if they want to see you in the graduation ceremony, if they do, do it for them. If something or someone is bothering you at school (which is why I chose not to attend middle school grad) then spell it out to your parents.

If your parents don’t care to for your grad ceremony, then don’t go if that makes you feel comfortable. But remember, we can’t live life in fear. I know from experience. :)
