I'm waiting to receive my December ACT scores on monday before deciding on which ones to send out. When I first made that decision, it sounded good, but now I'm worried. Does W&M accept scores received after the deadline even though they are postmarked before? Should I rush the scores or not?

as far as I know, the dates for all college admissions stuff is “mail by” dates, not “received by” dates.

Yeah, as long as your scores are postmarked by the deadline, you should be fine. I’ve also noticed that some colleges aren’t exactly too strict about having everything in by the deadline, although I’m not sure if that’s how W&M is.

If your test results come in a bit after the Jan. 1 deadline that is just fine. The primary thing is to have your Common Application and W&M Supplement submitted by Dec. 1.

Also, keep in mind W&M reviews only your best standardized testing result so if you send your previous scores now and your December score when available that is fine too because we’ll only evaluate the best one. Just be sure you indicate in the standardized testing section of your application that you took the Dec. test so deans can be on the look out for it.
