Is it possible to buy parking permit halfway through the quarter?

I just realized how much I need a car and was wondering if I could still get a parking permit right now and if it would be any cheaper than a year long permit. Thanks!

The university sells the permits on a first-come, first served basis, so I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re all out for the on-campus B1 and 22B permits (for people who live in the dorms). There are also the Santa Catalina lot permits (sold by Housing and Residential Services, not TPS) and the Harder Stadium B3 permits, so you might have luck with those if they’re out of the other ones.

One plus to buying your permit later is that it is prorated - you’ll only pay for the value of the permit adjusted for the remaining days it can be used for.

Hmm, so chances are theres no on campus parking permits? Dang that blows, I live in Santa Rosa and SC parking lot is WAAY too far :(

Hmm, is there a way to check the price without me buying it? The site is pretty confusing for me…

I guess you could call once TPS opens for Winter quarter. If you go to the TPS trailer (near Harder Stadium), you can buy a permit on the spot with a credit card if you do decide to get it.

The “thepermitstore.com” website also should let you see permit prices, but you’ll have to give a lot of information before you get to that point. You won’t get the permit as quickly if you get it this way, but you can get a temporary permit that prints from your computer.

As far as price, I would think that they’re all roughly 1/3 of the price off - something like $427 for the B1 permit, etc.

Maybe it was just me, but I bought a parking permit about a month into Fall Quarter and it wasn’t prorated at all. I was expecting it to be.
