I am a psychology major, and accepted my admission for SJSU for Fall 2018 as a Child and Adolescent Development major now the cost to move away from home and live in SJ is too expensive. I got accepted to SFSU for fall 2018 as a psychology major but went with SJSU. Is there a way I can reapply to SFSU, and if so would I apply as a psychology major or child and adolescent development major?
I believe all the CSUs only offer admission in the Fall. You certainly could wait a year and apply to SF as a freshman in the Fall of 19. If you go to a CC this Fall, you will need to apply to SFSU as a transfer, and you will need to meet all of their transfer requirements - including 60 units and all of the prescribed courses.
SFSU did have Spring admissions for this year 2018 but Psychology was not an available major as a Spring admit. You could contact SFSU admissions and see if you can still accept your spot for Fall 2018, take a Gap year and reapply as a Freshman for 2019 or go to a CC for 2 years and transfer.
@gumbymom makes a great point, there’s really no harm in contacting SF State and telling them your circumstances have changed. Since the campus is not impacted, they may let you reclaim your spot in their freshman class. It is worth a shot.
good luck
