I plan to take a couple of College classes to make up for the lack of AP classes at my school, and take the AP exam for those classes. Im wondering if I could take the AP exam on an earlier date, such as maybe in August when school starts? I'm asking because if I were to take a class over summer, and take the AP exam in May, I might not be able to remember all of the information as well; as compared to taking it right when school starts in August, or maybe at the end of the first semester of high school.

Whaa? Just ask about dual credit first…if you’re taking college classes, find out if they can count for high school credit as well.

They are only given in May, during a 2 week period, and each exam is given on a specific day (though they can be taken on a different day within that period if there is conflict between exams).

If you want to learn college material, and take an exam for credit, you should look into CLEP or DANTES exams, and see if the colleges you are considering will accept them for credit or placement.

No, the only time exams are offered is in May (though you could take a SAT subject that aligns with what you are studying in the fall). If you want to take the AP exam your best bet would be to take a spring semester college class and then take the AP exam.
