IS it possible to transfer after freshman year in college?

hi, i'm a very heartbroken UCB rejectee lol. i really can't get over it but i've come to terms and reality, and i won't be able to be at berkeley this fall (pending appeal but i shouldn't even bother). i'm goina go to UCSD for Mechanical Engineering most likely. what do i have to do to get admitted with transfer? high GPA..or what? so anyone have info on transferring? also, if i end up transferring, i start UCB as a sophomore right (so only 3 more years of college)?

thanks for any input

No, unfortunatly UCs require junior level credits before you can transfer. I'd suggest that you go to UCSD, work very hard, and if in a year and a half you still feel like transfering you can begin the paperwork. In order to be admitted you'll need a high gpa and you'll have to prove to the adcoms that you NEED to be at Cal, not just that you want to be here.

Hey,
I just found someones whose exactly in my shoes........i know how your feelin pal........berkeley was my dream school........neways ill be attending UCSD and my major is mechanical engineering...........wel iv got into Georgia Tech 2........so im oscillatin between the 2 ,my only concern is that i'll be out-state in GTech.......so hopefully i'll see you this fall at ucsd......maybe we'll both transfer to 2 berkely 2gether ;).....
