Is it still possible for me to change majors?

Hey everyone!

Here's my problem. I currently am a first year and am an intended business major (econ as back up). By next year, I will be done with these pre-reqs: 16A&B, statistics, and UGBA 10. The thing is, I'm not really feeling the whole business/economics thing, and I would really like to do something like IEOR. I'm not in the engineering school, but I hear ORMS is pretty similar. So here are my questions:
1. How is ORMS as a major in Berkeley and overall in the working world? How does it compare with IEOR?
2. Is it possible to take math 1A, 1B, 53, and 54 in one year? I am an okay math student.
3. For those of you who have taken Engineering 7, how was it? Will I do alright without taking any of those math classes?
4. When is the latest for a student to declare a major?

Any help is appreciated. Thanks

if you were admitted to L&S you were not admitted to a major. ORMS is supposed to be the L&S B.A. version of IEOR unless I am mistaken.

It is also a capped major, which means you have to declare before you have 80 units, usually at the end of sophomore year.

^
80 units? not including AP right?
how about summer?

No AP/IB, no CC, no summer

AP/IB/CC/summer units are all just freebies, they don’t affect unit ceilings

btw when I saw IB I mean International Baccalaureate, not the biology major.

Summer doesn’t count? Seriously?

Yup, that is what my major adviser told me. If it did count I would break the 136 unit ceiling early and have serious problems (I am a double major, therefore my ceiling is 136 not 130.)
