Is it too late for me to get into University of Pittsburgh?

Just wondering, I know that Pitt has rolling admission, but it’s the beginning of April now so I’m kind of worried it’s too late. Plus, I think I’m a little bit under the scores and GPA of the average admitted student.

Just some information below:
-Applying for Computer Science
-GPA: 3.5 (may have dropped a little from this last semester)
-SAT: 1730 (Reading: 570, Math: 600, Writing: 560), however I have a 1750 for Superscore, not that it really makes much of a difference
-ECs: Did volunteering in the summer before sophomore year, was in PBS Student reporting labs, stage crew, and a little bit of math tutoring, but I didn’t do anything else after sophomore year other than independent art
-Technically I haven’t seen it, but I’m pretty sure my freshman English teacher has written me a really good recommendation letter (I’ve seen what she’s written for me in the past, and since then I have worked with her in several extracurriculars)
-Caucasian female

Also I’m wondering if I should do the short answer questions, and if I should submit an art portfolio (but most of the art is over 2 years old). Or should I just get the application in ASAP?

Call and see if there is any room in CS. That’s probably the most competitive major.

Agree, it’s not too late, but you likely wouldn’t get into your major.

Should I still do the short answer questions? Are they really going to help my application that much, or should I just get it in?

You should be calling admissions. I don’t know whether the main campus is taking apps still. The satellite schools likely are and transfer is not difficult if you get the grades.

@dsen19‌, It is not too late to apply, but you don’t have too much more time. I would encourage you to get it in in the next week or two. Contact our office if you have any questions: 412-624-7488.

Also, the short answer questions are not required, but our Admissions Committee does recommend submitting them. Anything that helps the Committee get to know you better will help!
