I am applying for 2009 fall and going to take the subject tests this December. However, some of my friends told me that even for regular decision it would be too late.
Is it really too late? Should I change it to November? (For I need to take SAT reasoning in October!)
Thanks!

Check the schools you are applying to. However, I don't think it's too late for RD for most schools (Harvard allows you to take up through January for example)

But it's definitely too late for ED/EA

Are you an international student? Anyways, I don't think it will be too late. December is fine for regular decision. As lolcats4 said many schools even accept the Jan test.

Are you guys sure most schools (ones that have reg. decision deadline in early Jan) accept December scores??? I thought it was they wanted the scores just by the deadline... which you would receive scores later right?

Yes, I am an international student.
To TTwhite, I think most scores are available at the end of the month..meaning there is a chance to let them get the scores by the deadline...not very safe though

Check to be sure. I have yet to see/hear of an RD school which does not accept December scores.

You can email each college to confirm. But if you send the scores directly from the testing agencies, I don't think it's going to be a problem. It takes about 1 week for the scores to be delivered online, and the colleges should receive your score by the first week of January, or even before Jan 1st. And I don't think any college can have a problem with that. Most applicants from my country (Bangladesh) do as you are planning to do. They take the SAT Subjects test on December, or even in as late as January.
